Live in Faith, Share Christ’s Love
We live in faith by worshiping, learning, and enjoying fellowship with one another.
We share Christ’s love when we share our faith and serve others
You are welcome!
Christ Lutheran Church is a multicultural, intergenerational, justice-seeking church, sharing Christ's love here in Chicago and around the world for over a century. We welcome all people, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation. As a church comprised of people from many diverse backgrounds, we celebrate diversity as a great gift from God.
The Albany Park neighborhood is one of the most diverse in the nation. For the over 100 years, we have been a neighborhood church, being a community of welcome, compassion, spiritual growth, friendship, and justice in Albany Park. We currently are represented by members from five continents, who speak over a dozen languages. No matter where you have been, where you are going, and where you are now in your spiritual journey, we welcome you with open arms.
We are extensively involved in our neighborhood and our world. Our partnerships involve fighting local hunger with our food pantry, refugee resettlement, advocacy on social issues, support for mental health services, hosting numerous community activities, providing ESL and 12-step meetings, and hosting Halcyon Theatre, our theater-in-residence. We partner with the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago by serving as an internship site for future pastors. We rejoice that we are able to support one of our member families as they work at an Ethiopian orphanage, and another family involved with a peacemaking ministry in Ukraine.
